Seeking an experienced Draughtsperson to support the delivery of high-quality electrical and multidisciplinary designs for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You’ll play a key role in transforming engineering concepts into clear, compliant, and installation-ready drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate and professional electrical drawings, including schematics, chassis layouts, general arrangement drawings, and P&IDs
• Implement project-specific design requirements in line with engineering specifications and safety standards
• Ensure all drawings comply with PCI Africa drafting and quality standards
• Maintain and manage drawing data within Autodesk Vault to support efficient 3D layouts and equipment design
• Interface with electrical, mechanical, and process engineering disciplines to ensure functional and coordinated designs
• Support the mechanical draughting team where required
• Assist engineers by developing a clear understanding of project scope and technical requirements
• Identify potential technical or installation risks and highlight these to the project team
• Protect and maintain organizational drawing and design knowledge
• Actively contribute to team collaboration and knowledge sharing
• Support and follow ISO 9001:2015 processes and internal quality procedures
Minimum requirements
- Draughting Diploma or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 5 years’ practical draughting experience in the water or wastewater industry
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk software packages, including Inventor
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy and consistency
• Good understanding of electrical design principles and installation requirements
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
